Kevin "Buck" Sralla | Family Law Attorney | San Antonio, TX

Biography

Kevin “Buck” Sralla is a family law attorney who has been practicing in San Antonio and surrounding areas since 2006. He is a down-to-earth, hard-working lawyer with a desire and an ability to connect with his clients to achieve their litigation goals. He is the owner/managing attorney at Sralla Family Law, PLLC – a six-member boutique firm that includes two associate lawyers working alongside Mr. Sralla. His goal has always been to achieve effective communication with his firm’s clients while getting them the top-notch results they deserve in the courtroom. He identifies with client predicaments and the unique challenges they face.

Early Years

As a child, he overcame a severe case of Tourette Syndrome, a condition that causes involuntary movements, tics, and vocalizations. This often made him the target of laughter and ridicule, but it never kept him from chasing and achieving his dreams. Now, his professional pedigree speaks for itself. After working as an investigative journalist for seven years, Mr. Sralla observed that he had a knack for calmly drawing the truth out of news sources and public officials he encountered, many times in the face of resistance and personal attacks. He parlayed this skill into a law degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 1999.

Law School

While in law school, Mr. Sralla earned a coveted spot as an associate editor on the Wayne Law Review and garnered multiple honors and awards, including the Richard B. Gushee Writing Award recognizing the best writer on the law review in 1998. After graduation, his first job was a judicial clerkship for the Hon. Marilyn J. Kelly on the Michigan Supreme Court, where he drafted published opinions and had a voice in the shaping of Michigan’s jurisprudence. After spending 12 years in Michigan, Mr. Sralla and his family came home to Texas in 2006, when he hung his shingle and began taking family law cases. It was also during this time that his life took a dramatic turn as he became the primary caregiver for his wife, who was struggling with a terminal illness.

Heart Of A Lion

As he cared for her around the clock, often sleeping by her bedside in hospitals as she clung to her life embattled by disease, he fought by her side and saw her through a double-lung transplant operation that saved her life in 2015. Through it all, he managed to maintain and grow his law practice into what it is today. He has since represented the interests of thousands of clients with their family law needs.

Strength Of A Giant

His practice focuses on all aspects of family law, including high-conflict and uncontested divorces, property division issues, protective orders, domestic violence situations, child custody disputes, modifications of prior orders, child support issues, same-sex marriage matters, adoptions, grandparents’ rights dilemmas, and complex interstate jurisdictional cases.

Mr. Sralla is in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and maintains solid relationships with the bench and bar of Bexar County, Texas, and surrounding counties in South Central Texas. He is always eager to serve his clientele, build upon those relationships and add to his ever-growing list of accomplishments.

When You Need A San Antonio Family Law Attorney, You Can Turn To Our Team

Frequently Asked Questions

A divorce case can cost anywhere from $2,000.00 to $10,000.00 and up in San Antonio. This price range typically varies based on the complexity of each particular case, the extent to which the matter is contested, the aggressiveness of the family law attorneys involved, whether a jury trial is requested and many other often unpredictable factors.

If you hire a family law divorce lawyer, your lawyer will file your divorce petition electronically. If you are filing your divorce without the help of a family law attorney, you can do so at the Family Law Staff Attorney’s Office at the Bexar County Courthouse, 100 Dolorosa, San Antonio, Texas 78205.

Either spouse is entitled to a just and right division (roughly 50%) of the community estate and, in certain extreme cases, a disproportionate share (greater than 50%) of the community estate. This includes all assets acquired during the marriage, but does not include a spouse’s separate property.

Getting a divorce with absolutely no money is difficult but not impossible. The party seeking to file for divorce can visit the Family Law Staff Attorney’s Office at the Bexar County Courthouse to obtain a packet of information to assist in preparing and filing the paperwork for starting a divorce case. The filing fee can be waived if the filing party prepares an affidavit of indigency declaring that he or she has no money. Another alternative is to seek free legal aid or the assistance of a pro-bono lawyer.
